I am an independent contractor. When an offer is made through e-mail it is made to multiple vendors at the same time. I have to go to my log on page with the company, enter my password on the next screen, and choose Accept or Decline. No matter how quickly I have done this manually (often within 1.5 minutes) someone else presses the "I Accept" button on their own log in page and I Iose the job opportunity. This happens over and over so I know there must be some computer trick to this I could use to my benefit. I do have an alert sent also to my telephone, but still I'm not fast enough.

How often do these offers come? If they are frequent, it may be helpful to fit at your computer refreshing the screen for a long period of time, hoping for an offer. If you notice that they typically come around a certain time of day, log on and check around that time. Keep trying, and I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

Have someone on elance or guru.com make a program for you to allow you to do this.

People probably constantly check their page rather than waiting for the email.
