I still see them in stores. I want something to wear over a dress w/ straps, so what should I wear?

Shrugs are not The Most Supertrendy Thing Everyone Has To Have Or Else They'll Die that they were two years ago, but they're by no means "out." No one is going to laugh at you or tell you it's "so 2005."
If you want something a little trendier, try a short sweater that flares out to an A-line shape and hits in the middle of your ribcage, it's kind of a "mod" silhouette that's very spring 07.

Shrugs aren't necessarily out- they're just not as hot as they were two years ago.
If you want something trendy and classy to wear over a dress with straps, wear a nice shawl. I know when most people hear the word shawl they think of their grandmothers, but there are some beautiful, stylish shawls that make you look glamorous. Think pashmina shawls or sheer ones that cover you up just enough without swamping you.

I say screw fashion and make your own . Wear what you want to.
