I would wait until about 3-4 weeks. That's when they are weaned, so you don't change the smell of them.

Oncce they babies start being interested in hamster food, offer some green leafy veggies that are easy to chew (kale, collard greens). Just not too many.

Congrats.

Get books on Syrian hamsters and the books probably will tell you about it.

leave them alone until they start leaving the nest on their own. don't have any other hammys in the cage with her. i have never heard of giving hamsters greens. they will do fine on hamster food. they will start eating even before their eyes open.

Leave her alone. If you make her nervous she will start to eat them up. Just leave them alone as much as possible. You can touch them once they stop nursing on her and eating solid food. Be patient.

Make sure the father isn't in the same cage as the babies, he will eat them.

Who told you that you can't touch them?

Rodents aren't as "picky" as birds and probably won't discard the young if you choose to touch any of them.

However, the growth rate of rodents is very fast. So if you're that worried, wait about 16 days or so, so that they're crawling around. If you still want to play it safe, wait until thier eyes open at about 24-30 days.

when they start growing hair and they open their eyes you can handle them, they grow rather fast. if you touch them to soon the mother may stop feeding them or she'll eat them. if you notice her not feeding them keep mother and babies apart and hand feed them yourself. i had a mouse that ate her babies and she died a few days later.
