Pierre Larouche. And yes, it was 50 on the dot in 1979-80. His wingers that season, Guy Lafleur and Steve Shutt also scored 50 and 47, respectively.

Maurice "The Rocket" Richard.

He also did it when the league only had a 50 game schedule. He was the first person to score 50 goals in the first 50 games of the season until Mike Bossy of the NY Islanders did it in the 80's. since then there have been quite a few to also do it...

But the Rocket did it during a time when no one even thought scoring 50 goals was possible. 50 goals back then was like some one scoring 100 in a season today.
