These are what we paid for (not counting car payments, student loans, etc.) With rough calculations for where we live (Seattle area)

We have our mortgage/rent payment $1600
Sewer $80
Water (sometimes these two are together, ours are not.) $40
Electricity/Gas $90 (average...sometimes more sometimes less, in winter months it can be 200)
Cable/Internet $90
Cell Phone (we don't have a regular phone) $60
We have this wierd sewer bill that's seperate that all people in our city have to pay. It's like $3000, but we pay about $500 a year
Car insurance $200
Home owners Association dues ($400 a year)
Trash/recycle ($50 every three months)

There are also a lot of start up fees that you'll get back after a year, but they can be hefty. Puget Sound Energy charged us $90 to start up, we got it back in the form of credit after a year. Plus setting up certain things like cable/internet often have a fee that you don't get back to set up things.

Hope that helps.

Uh, well, you will have to pay rent, telephone (unless you are using cell phones in which case you will still have to pay), electricity (unless it's included in the rent which it generally is not), natural gas for heating (that is often included in the rent but not always), water (often included but not always), food, insurance (medical and renter's insurance, also car insurance), etc. Remember too you will have unexpected expenses that cannot be foreseen, such as doctor and dental visits, car repairs, clothing costs (yes, eventually you will need some new clothes), and other unexpected expenses that cannot really be budgeted into the monthly tally.

it depends are you moving to a house or an apartment. here is the best way to figure just to be sure:
rent
water
trash
tv
phone
internet
electricity
gas
if you are moving to a house X all of that by two. because it is more expensive
plus if you have a yard then you have gardner and if you plan on doing the yard work yourself then you will have to buy a lawn mower, weed eater etc..
and on top of all of that you have
cell phone
car payment
car insurance
and gas for the car
and then if you have money left over you get to eat a little.

rent first off. some places you pay utilities, like water, gas, and electricity. some places pay your water and gas, some pay a portion, you just have to check with the renters. then you will have groceries, other necessities such as toilet paper, razors etc. Car payments, cell phone bill(s), home phoen if you have one, credit cards, and gas. thats all we pay monthly, oh yeah car insurance. dont forget spending money too, and cigarrettes if you smoke.

Generally you can count on paying:

- Rent
- Some utilities, likely hydro
- Phone, cable, internet
- Contents and liability insurance

There may be more, maybe less, but those are the bills that you are almost certain to have to pay.

I'll probably forget something, but here are a few to get you started. (I'm assuming you're renting)

*rent
*renters insurance
*phone
*electric
*water
*heat
*food
*clothing
*cable or satellite
*internet
*car
*gas (for the car)
*car insurance
*entertainment (renting movies, going out, etc.)
*other stuff that you don't expect that just comes up

Some of this may be included in your rent.
