Well, if you never see them date females, and they have hickies, that would be a pretty good tell.
Seriously, why do you care? Are you interested in one of them? If that's the case, tell him you would like to get to know him better than just a friend. If he is gay, he will tell you.
Of course, you could always do the really off the wall thing, and just ask them.

If you don't have a well developed sense of 'dar, then all you can do is ask. And even if you think someone you know is gay, especially if they're younger, they might be gay and not know it yet. Don't make them uncomforable by bringing it up unless you're very good friends. And if you ARE very good friends, you'd be among the first people that they'd tell. So, I'd actually suggest that you just leave their business as their business.
If you care because you're interested in one of them, then just ask the one you like to go out with you. If they have to decline because of orientation, they'll tell you at that time.

Does it really matter? but in any case the only ways to tell are to catch them having sex with men, or to ask. I would assume the second one is the better choice. Just because they hang out alot doesn't mean anything. i know some guys that are attached at the hip all the time, but completely strait. they are just best friends

You really can't tell unless you see them having sex with each other and even then they might not be gay. Maybe bisexual or questioning.
But in any case, it really doesn't matter.

Well if you see them engaging in sex acts than you will know, if you don't see that then don't jump to conclusions
