Hello and thanks in advance for your help.

My IE browser is going CRAZY. Whenever I open a new IE browser (or sometimes just go to a different site) a totally different bar shows up, starting with "File" and "Edit"... and it flickers off and on, making it impossible to click on anything because the link or button I try to click on keeps going up and down! This is driving me insane. It happened before and it went away for a while, but now its back!

My husband and I have run spyware/virus sweepers and it doesn't make this stop!

Pleeeeaaaaassseeeeeeee help!!!!

I hate IE, simply for reasons like this. Unfortunately I can't tell you what to do to fix the problem, but I can recommend Fire Fox, it's a great browser and it works well too. It was also the 1st browser for Windows to have the tabbed browsing function. Just click on the link in my sources list to go to the download page. There are also less viruses geared toward Fire Fox than there are toward IE.

I had this problem when I updated to IE 7.0 - I uninstalled it and my computer automatically returned to IE 6 and I've had no problems since. You might try using Firefox - free download and a great browser.

Sounds like you've got a browser hijacker. If you have any antivirus/spyware programs, I suggest you run them now. Also, for the future get Firefox as a back up browser, in case this happens again.

Two things:
Install Microsoft Defender to stop most spyware programs. It's free. When it installs, let it scan your whole pc.

Secondly, make sure your settings for IE have been set to stop pop ups. It's under tools.

Also, (I know this is 3), make sure your 'Home Page' is something like www.yahoo.com, not a wierd page (this may be your problem)..
