The 1994 Bulls went and got extra help to fill in MJ. They went and got Toni Kukuc, Steve Ker, & Luc Longley. At the time Kukuc was regarded as a very good player. Phil even selected Kukuc to take the last shot over Pippen. Then the poor leader Pippen was had got jealous and refused to be apart of the play. Despite Pippen not getting involved, the Bulls still won the game with Kukuc's last second shot. The 1994 Bulls was clearly a different team from the 1993 Bulls. MJ didn't have Kukuc & the other guys I mentioned. So to say that Pippen led the same team that MJ did is a lie. .......Anyways, the 1994 Bulls needed to get extra help to get 55 wins & make the playoffs. It wasn't just Pippen's doing.

The difference between the team that MJ led in 1993 and the one Pip led in '94 was all about determination, the will to win, and making those around you a lot better. MJ had it all, but Pip just had determination and a will to win. Without MJ and that willingness to make those around you better, you don't stand a chance. And without him, that opened the door for the Houston Rockets to win back-to-back titles in '94 and '95. Pippen didn't have it in him to make those around him better, but he had it in him to take the last shot and when Phil Jackson decided to go to someone else other than him, that's what sealed it for him.

I remember one quote in a Sports Illustrated magazine that featured MJ on the cover when they were giving a retrospective of his entire career after he retired following the '98 season. Pippen said, "I don't know what kind of player i would be without Michael. I'm just glad i haven't been able to find out." Well, he did. He found that out for 18 months. Without MJ, you don't have six championships, you have zero!

James, you're grabbing at straws.

The Bulls lose their top scorer (32.6 ppg in 93), replace him with a CBA player who never averaged more than 5 ppg in his career, and they only drop two more games?

Now, you want to throw in Kukoc, Kerr, and Longley to try and justify a two game difference? C'mon man. LOL

If you want to look at it that way, then the Bulls lost Paxson (he only played 27 games) . And Longley (for whatever THAT'S worth) played only twenty seven games.

Yes, the Bulls WERE clearly a different team that year. They didn't have the most selfish player in history hogging the ball. They were actually a team! Pippen, Grant and BJ Armstrong all made the all-star team, without Jordan there holding them back.

Just face it. Jordan was not as important to the Bulls success as you'd like him to be. He had all these players you named for 17 games (+ Ron Harper) the next year and couldn't get them past the second round of the playoffs. Oh, I forgot, he was "rusty". lol

Look at what happened when the REAL "greatest players" retired. Wilt, Russell, Bird, Magic, Oscar......all of their teams fell apart when they retired, unlike Jordan's team. They hardly missed a beat....IDIOT!

James......when Jordan retired (again) in 98, Chicago completely disbanded the team. Pippen and Rodman, Harper all left the team. Nice try, though...

He tried to, and their record in the season was great, but they lost to the Knicks in the playoffs. That year the Houston Rockets were unstoppable, so it didn't make much of difference.
