I have to write a literary argumentative research paper, and I don't know what to do as my topic =[ I'm not good with this stuff, and it has to be 7-10 pages!!!!!
It can be about literature, film, or music. So I have a lot of options, I just don't have any clue what to do. PLEASE HELP!

Well, there is a lot of hoop-la these days about the effects (positive or negative) of Rap music on young listeners.
You could take that and run with it.
Convince the reader that it is either the best thing to hit the music scene since rock n' roll, or the most damaging form of music ever created.

Do you have any favorite books, cds, or movies?
You can develop a paper on a favorite genre (type) of book like mysteries, horror, etc. You can do the same for movies.
Are there any "themes" running through the books, movies, etc.?
Some ideas: how women are portrayed in horror films.
Others: Stereotypes in romance novels (if you like this type of genre). Are the women rescued by a handsome stranger?
Or, are the women independent and resilient?
If you like novels, you may want to look at the writing or Southern women like Fannie Flagg or Rebbecca Wells. Their characters are southern, but very independent and strong.
There may also be some research on these topics (via on line databases)
Just a few ideas.
