With the thermostat set at 60 degrees in a bungalow with 7 radators, 3 of which are 6foot doubles the rest 4foot singles. I seem to use about 65 litres a week with the timer set for 6 hours use per day. Is this about right?

Every oil boiler has an oil nozzle that indicates how much oil goes through it. Such as .75 80 degree. This nozzle uses three quarters of a gallon per hour. You can look on your rating plate and get the same info. Call the manufacture with the model # is another way.

There are a lot of other factors to consider also.
Each will drastically affect your heaters fuel consumption.

How cold is it outside?
How well is your house insulated?
Is your house drafty?
Does your heater have to run a lot to keep up with the demand?
How old is your furnace? & what is it's effiency rating?
How well maintained is your furnace?
What is the quality of the fuel you're burning?

Yes your burner nozzle has a specific GPM rating but you aren't going to get a satisfactory answer about actual fuel consumption just based on house size and thermostat setting.

You would have to track the number of times and duration per hour your furnace burner runs, and then watch your tank level.

this term is used to tell you how much the boiler will use in the time it is running, any other factor doesnt matter. only the time it is in operation. it is the size of the opening on the nozzle. if you are asking how much it is using in a period of 8 hrs. lrets say, then we cant answer that. other factors to consider.
