The thin line is the ordinary human beings desire for that which is 'special' and extra-ordinary. The desire for people/roles that are glamourous (as opposed to dull and/or ordinary), exciting (as opposed to mundane or tedius or boring) and special (as opposed to everyday 'Joe') is what creates celebrities.
Celebrities, baseball stars, action-heroes, anyone who inspires others to become more than what they think they are, or at least to dream about becoming so, exist because people want them to exist. In a society that values elder wisdom, elders are created; in a society that wants a section of people to be rich, beautiful, fabulous, wealthy, and in every respect 'different' from themselves and their lives, a group of people will fulfill that role.

My Dear Atal Bihari Vajpyeeji, it is not a thin line but a very FAT purse string that separates the CELEBRITY from a COMMON HUMAN-BEING. Of course it takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears, grime and guts, climbs and falls, grit and balls, sex appeal and cop-a-feels, outrageous lies and wide spread thighs, one should be gifted, talented or born with a silver spoon in the mouth or be ravished by failure, disappointment or die in poverty before one becomes a celebrity

money, and how much exposure you get... the more stupid or outrageous things you do, the more people will notice, then you will be a celebrity! But who wants to be like Britney, really???
