OK OK. It was in a small town, were the main rd is a 2 lane. There are no kids, just a speed trap, you come from going 55 to 25 in 10 seconds.

If your stupid enough to let you kids jump out from behind parked cars in a town were big trucks come through all the time, your kids deserve to get hit! THERE WERE NO KIDS!!!!!! WASN"T IN A RESIDENTIAL PLACE!!!!!!!

According to the site I have linked here, the penalty for 24mph or above over the speed limit is 4 points and a fine. I would imagine if he has a clean driving record, he won't lose his license but anything is possible. I would try to get the speed on the ticket reduced or talk to a lawyer about your options. Also, check with your insurance company about what triggers rate increases etc...

I am not sure what the laws in Georgia are, but in Minnesota there would be a possibility of him losing his license. It would depend on his previous driving record. He will probably pay a large fine, maybe be forced to take classes, and get put on probation.

Personally, I would charge him with not only the 25-30 MPH over the speed limit, but also with reckless driving and/or criminal vehicular operation for this offense if I was the DA. There is NO REASON to go 51 in a 25 and it is VERY dangerous. Residential or not, it is the speed limit.

I'm not sure what the law is in backwards as* Georgia, but he was going a little too fast wouldn't you agree? I mean I got a ticket for going 96 in a 55, but there aren't many opportunities for kids to jump out in front of you from behind a parked car or something like at in a 55 mph zone. He should lose his liscense because that is just stupid to be going that fast through a residential neighborhood.

first of all why was he doing 51 in a 25. there's reasons why there is a speed limit. maybe because kids play around there, etc....if i was a judge i'd take his license and make an example of him. But most likely he'll just get a hefty fine.

If he has a clean record (or not too bad) then he will probably get just a fine... It might be a wreckless driving.. that would be more serious than a speeding ticket.. but I doubt he will lose his license.. Good luck

Doubt it. They usually don't suspend your license unless you are going 30 or more miles over the speed limit and even that depends on the judge.

Probably not, but he will get charged with reckless endangerment for going twice the speed limit.
