My ear has been blocked for a month. My doctor told me that I had fluid behind the ear drum and presribed a steroid nasal spray but it has done nothing. I have also taken oral antibiotics and antibiotic ear drops that have not worked.

There is this stuff called Swimmers Ear, find it at the drugstore, works like magic! It's also less than $5

Fluid behind the ear drum is bad. It's obviously an infection, and not swimmer's ear as that is an infection in the ear canal and not behind the ear drum itself. Did you finish all of your medications, and what type of oral antibiotics did you take? I am prone to ear infections and have found that sulfamet, prescribed by the doctor, works well for me. If your ear is still blocked, you need to be referred to a specialist to have it checked out. An ear, nose and throat (ENT) could probably find out what's going on.

Well it sounds really bad but if you know a black person more so an older black person tell them your problem and see if they will will cut you a little piece of their hair and roll it up and put it in there like you would a cotton ball and sleep that way and it should work no kidding cause i have a baby and she kept ear infections and the doctor said it was due to fluid on her ears and i started talking to my grandma and that is what she told me to do!! I did it and she hasnt had an earinfection since!! Well try it maybe and see if it works for you!! Sorry if it sounds gross or weird!! But sometimes older peopl aint crazy!!!

No there is no easy way to get rid of fluid in the ear.

I suggest you go see an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor. You should not have fluid build up for that long.

Just tilt your head to the side, and bounce; it should dislodge the water out of your ear.
