It keeps saying "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage". I know it is not my wireless connection and I have also called my cable company to see if anything was wrong. What else could it be? Is there a virus or something that could cause this? I ran adaware and removed all critical objects. I dont know what to try next PLEASE HELP!!

This doesnt happen constantly. One out of three times is a good estimate. It happens on all websites, not just specific ones. One second its fine, the next its not. My laptop is gonna get thrown in the snow here shortly.

Try restarting your computer. I have this problem sometimes as well with my wireless connection. If you are sharing a wireless connection there may be too many people on at once. If restarting doesn't work, just leave it for a bit and come back later. Otherwise you may need to reboot the router. To do this, shutdown your PC, unplug the router, wait about 10 seconds and plug back in and turn everything back on. Hope this helps.

If this messsage appears on every website you type, then the problem is the connection. Check all your hardware: all cables are properly plugged in, drivers are installed.
Also certain adware and viruses may overtime prevent you accessing the internet. For this you will have to reinstall the OS.
However, if the message comes only on a specific website, then the website is down or has been shut down.

I've read the other answers, and something that hasn't been mentioned is the dns server. DNS stands for domain name server. Every website has a name (i.e. google.com), and a corresponding number (i.e. 132.254.1.1), which identifies it. The DNS server is, essentially, the translator, hence if the DNS server isn't working, you won't be able to view the pages.
It's best to contact either the computer's manufacturer, or your provider to troubleshoot this issue.

when you encountered this issue again... always check your IP address, click start go to run type CMD, hit ok then on the black screen after the blinking cursor, type IPCONFIG be sure the IP address is not 169.xxx.xxx or 0.0.0 bec if you have this IP address that means you have no internet connection call your ISP.

ADWARE? i had a spyware that denied access to the net, it does this by blocking TCP ports just like a firewall would lol.
try AVG ANTISPYWARE 7.5 its free, and it works really well.
