pain in both calves that becomes more after prolonged standing ....it starts from behind the knee and goes down till the ankle. She 1 year ago had surgery for sciatica (impinged nerve) and was feeling good until about 1 month back..what it is due to...? will the pain balms help? pls help her ..she is suffering a lot.....thanQ all.

She should go to the doctor and have them check it out.It could be a blood clot in her leg.

Since the pain is only in her calves, I suspect something else is going on. If she is overweight, she is putting a lot of undue stress on her knees and ankles which could be causing the pain. If not, she might have low potassium levels. I have had this myself. She can get potassium 99mg at any drug store, but I would also recommend Turmeric. It is a natural anti-inflammatory and has helped me tremendously.

Tell her to start taking Calcium vitamins. I had a friend who had the same problem as your mother. After my friend starting taking Calcium, the pain went away. I take Calcium myself twice a day, 600 mg. with 400 mg. of Vitamin D.
