Yeah I think its right & fair. If an employee doesn't want to work on sundays then they should advise their employer. If that is not an option then the employee should go find another job that will allow Sundays off.

Alot of people like to work on a Sunday but I personally don't think there's any need then again I'm sure there are people who like shopping on a Sunday as it might be the only day that they can. It's a funny old world.

No. I don't think it is fair, companies are still looking for the almighty dollar, so competitive and they have fits that their staff doesn't particularly like to work on Sundays. I do believe we need a day of rest. (not religious purposes) just to prevent burn-out. Management should work Sundays if they think it is so great. I"ll bet companies would have less call-outs if the employees did not have to work Sundays.

Including the shop staff who are Jewish or Mormon or atheist? Not everyone holds Sunday as a holy day, and those who do are within their legal rights to demand to have Sundays off of work..

Absolutely. If they don't want to work on Sunday they should either switch hours or quit. Some shops want to do business on Sunday, and people who want to work there will just have to deal with that.

Yes. Some people can only shop on Sundays. Why shouldn't they be able to.

I remember Sunday closing and to be honest it was a boring day but it seemed to be more family orientated. Obviously society has changed and the big corporations wanted to make more money. I run a water garden centre and Sunday is always our busiest day so I can't really complain!

As others have pointed out, lots of people work Sundays and think little of it. Equally, those who do wish Sundays off due to a religious reason, then they have that right.

that's not that bad. our world operates every single day of the year.
i worked for an energy company, we had shifts on Christmas day and night. People need natural gas to heat their homes in the winter, you can't just shut down.
Same with electricity, water, wastewater, TV, radio, police, firefighters, hospitals, the military, telecommunications, and the list goes on
