Is it possible to wash whites and colored laundry together if you wash in cold water? What about drying them together in the dryer?

You can but it is a bad idea because many garments are coming out of SE Asia and they do not use colorfast dyes. Whenever you see clothing made in India, Pakistan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangledesh, etc. know that the color of the garment has been added after the fiber is made. Their dyes generally bleed and should be set with a cup of white vinegar in the rinse water to keep the color bright and stop it from bleeding onto other garments in the wash. Even when you have laundered the garments in a similar colored load, it is not advisable to dry them with white clothing because they will still bleed even if you washed them in cold water and not set the dye. You can also purchase "color catchers" by Shout and other manufacturers if you are washing garments that have say a red stripe on a white background to keep the red from bleeding on the white.

As long as everything has been washed and dried before your safe. No need to wash in cold, you may use warm. You only want to be careful of clothes that bleed usual reds and new clothes. So go for it! You can wash and dry everything together. I do it every week and the only problem I had was a new red shirt. Bled all over everything. Happy washing.

If the colored items have been washed a lot before, you can but eventually the whites will be less white. The dryer is not a problem as long as nothing in the 'colored items' is fading or 'bleeding'

You may end up with pink underwear, if that's what your looking for, great. I wash all my whites together, except for those articles of clothing that have colors on them. I wash all my pure white items in warm water. Other white clothing with prints on them, I follow the washing instructions on the care tag. That is, if your clothes still have the care tag on them. I wash my reds and blacks together in cold water, again except for those clothes which indicate to wash in a different temperature. Good Luck.

Why would you want to risk ruining everything? Cold water is not always safe to not fade. It depends on the fabric.

I wouldn't dry my whites and colors together either, for the lint ball will form on some fabric and they'll be multi-colored.

If you only have a few items and want to dry them, just hang them up. Let them air dry so you will be safe with that.

it's fine to wash whites with light colored laundry. i do it all the time. you can wash in either cold or warm water. however, the warmer water may shrink your cottons. always wash darks separately, otherwise they will bleed and slightly dye your whites. for example, NEVER wash reds and whites together.

drying them together should be fine. but if you want to stay safe, dry them separately.

If you do that it would be a bad idea washing them together if wight turn some clothes white or pink then it wouldn`t look right. Drying them together might do good.

So long as the clothes don't "bleed", then it's not a problem for washing or drying them together.
