it is really hard mostly trained jewlers can tell due to the cuts in the cz it tends to be a little rounded, while a diamond once it is cut keeps a sharp edge even if it look round to the naked eye,
and also by the coloring that the stone cast when light is projected on it most pawn shops and jewlers can tell you the difference a little better,

Hold it under a U.V light if it glows its cz usually

Smash it with a hammer. If it breaks, it was a CZ.
