Having to work your way up. Borrow the money to learn to fly, get an instructor rating. Teach while you build hours. Your first flying job beyond instructor will probably be flying freight at night. Eventually you can progress to better jobs, small charter or corporate pilot. It take a long time to get to the airlines. And the airlines are all going bankrupt so they are reducing pay and benefits. That is the down side. The upside is that if you love flying you get to get paid to do it no matter how little.
