My boyfriend and I are going to a new trendy restuarant for dinner with another couple tomorrow night. (we are in our mid-20's) I'm not sure what to wear. This restuarant is located near an Ivy League University in a pretty hip city. I want to be comfortable, yet trendy. Heels are not a problem. However, I'm currently in the middle of losing some much needed weight. I lose a little more each week, but I don't like clothing that is too tight around my middle/stomach area. I'm not ready for that type of clothing. I also want clothing that I can still wear if I lose another 5-10 pounds.

I am going to have to buy something new, b/c I don't have any trendy, sophistated clothes. My old clothes don't fit and I don't have any friends in my size range to borrow from.

Ideas? I want to long cute, sexy, sophistated and trendy b/c the other couple is always dressed very well.

Depending on your skin tone I'd suggest something in a neutral color. I'd go form fitting in the top with hip hugging pants that flair out at the ankle. This will actually make you look thinner. Then I'd layer the top with a nice jacket or wrap. I'd stay to only one necklace if you want to stay with a classy look.
If you look hard enough you should be able to find this outfit wash and wear which just makes your life easier.

I am losing weight too and know how you feel! Try a cute wrap dress with some pumps(fun not stuffy). Try black and accessorize with white or a bright color. Stick with solids and try to do a bold earring or necklace...you can get those pretty inexpensively! Try Target.com for the wrap dress(around $25) Try pants/jeans with a top that floats away from the mid-section. If you are near a Nordstrom or store like that, they have personal shoppers that can help you if you're completely stuck! Good Luck!!!

Go with a black A-line skirt and a black top that's in a flattering cut. Maybe try a babydoll cut top, which is tighter around the breasts but looser below them. Just make sure it fits you properly because if it's the wrong size, you could wind up looking pregnant.

Then find a really nice contrasting shawl you can drape over your shoulders. You can use the shawl to cover any part of you that you feel sensitive about, but if you're sitting down, you can leave it draped over the back of the chair so the top shows off your best features.

Good luck and have fun!

hmmm well i like the prep style... you can buy some cute dress pants. (the ones wore with suits)... either black or something.... make sure they're not skinny pants, that they at least have a bell bottom, and a a collar shirt in any color you prefer, i would tell you but i don't know your skin color or color of eyes to help you with that. and perhaps you can buy a tang top with some glitter or sparkles. then you can unbutton the first 2 buttons and give it a sexy look.... buy some accesories or use some of your own. if you have your hair down use hoop earings, if your hair is up you can use dangling earings... depends it all depends.. this look is like a nice, sexy, trendy look... well in my opinion

first, get a great pair of dark wash jeans. they should still fit you if you loose more weight. a cute lcowing top will help hide the unwanted midsection. you can make it a little low cut for a "sexier" look. then wear cute heels- boots would be great, or a fun strappy sandal. as for accessories, clutches are always great for going out and about in the evening. wear long necklaces w/ big funky beads. wear dainty earrings to go along with your bold necklaces. enjoy your dinner!

for tops try stores like H&M, very fun and funky. good lucky finding an outift!!!

remember, metallics are always great for evening. use them in shoes and handbags.

that top is sexy, yet conservative. and black is always great for evening when it's jazzed up w/ special accessories.

Buy some nice dark colored jeans (blue) and a nice silky shirt those are pretty cute when going out. Just make sure you don't look like you are pregnant. Just add heels and smoky eyes and you are set to go.

Good Luck on the weight loss!

go for a dress outfit that flows around you and your midsection. but is about 3 inches above the knee. go to a second hand store, you'd be amazed at what you can find there that's you, cheap, and trendy.

Flowing dresses are really in this spring. Why not try something floral and flowing like this one from Forever 21:

Wear it with wedges or cute heals and maybe some light jewelry and you are all set!

Good luck!

Wear astronaut outfits.

I'd eat there to check out some space waitress with tight spandex and a spacehelmet on.

Why does it matter what you wear? Wear what you feel like. Tredy restaurants are usually populated by trendy poseurs. Be yourself and show them all what it's like to be real.
