My new HP (Media Center) PC goes in to hibernation fine, but cannot come out of it.

When I reactivate my PC, it's power button lights up again, but nothing comes up on the monitor (There's nothing wrong with the monitor though, cos it works with another computer)

Can anyone help?

My Pc's really new, with 320Gb. Is there another alternative to HIbernation that allows you to get your opened files back straight away after switching off?

You can turn off hibernation, click start, control panel, preformation and mant...., power options. and from there you can turn it off. I have mine turned off, so it's no big deal.

Hibernation requires quite a bit of free CPU, RAM and hdd space. Its best to not let it hibernate if anything is running.

Personally, I just turn off hibernation as soon as I start working on a computer. It is a rather unstable feature that provides very minor advantages over the normal windows power management.

You will have too make sure your C-Mos power settings are set to user defined or set the settings to allow for hibernation and the other power options you want......
