The bus does not uses zones. The zone 2-3 only applies to the tube/DLR/rail. With your ticket you can travel on any bus in Greater London, including those in central London and the outer suburbs. It does not matter where your journey by bus begins or ends.

A quote from the attached source: "Any Bus Pass, Travelcard or bus Saver ticket is valid for travel across the entire London bus network."

Actually on the bus with a bus zonal pass you can travel over any zone as long as you START your journey within the zone specified on the ticket.

And before people ask. I do work in the Public Transport Sector within the South East and London Areas and know the TFL rules.

However you may not do the same on the Tube, Tram, Overground Rail Services or DLR. These must have the correct Zones on your Ticket.

One of the reasons for the Bus situation apparently is because of the routing of the bus system and the indirect system they run.

It is weird and we could not get our heads around it when we was being trained on the regulations and requirements, but it is a good perk if you can use it.

Nickname is correct. I have a Zone 4-5 pass but have to go to London at times and once there I can get on any bus with that ticket and have never had a problem. In addition you will be able to use the pass on any Tramlink service too. Happy travelling

No! You can only travel on transport in zones 2 or 3! If you want to travel in zone 1 you have to get a 1-4 travelcard.

Not zone 1, 4, 5 or 6, that's why it's probably cheaper - zone 1 bumps the price up...
