Leviticus 18:22 states: "Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is abomination."

Why must I accept your lifestyle as ok.
When every fiber of my being says it is wrong.
Ignorance is relitive to the subject.
Questioning my intellagence, is only showing your lack of understanding of others around you.
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKES A PERSON LOVE ANOTHER OF THE SAME SEX.

They are so entrenched in their sin that they either deny that God exists at all (they are in denial), or blame their sin on their parents(such as when they say they were born gay), and sometimes even blame us for trying to help them by calling Christians names like homophobe, bigot, racist, etc. However, in the end they will pay for their sin unless they repent, which they often claim is impossible.

Leviticus??

The passages in Leviticus (18:22 and 20:13), understood IN THE CONTEXT of the time and place, are not an admonishment against loving sexual relationships between people of the same sex but instead against sex as a form of domination and control. Besides, these passages are part of the Holiness Code which is not binding to modern day Christians (or anyone else for that matter).

Thanks I hadn't heard that before.

Consider that what you typed up there was written in the 17th Century as a translation from Latin, which itself was a translation from some form of Hebrew, which before it was ever written down had been recited under oral tradition for Hundreds of years. No chance then that its meaning might have been "Chinese Whispered" or "Lost in Translation"?

Consider too that the society when that was first derived was considerably more uninformed and had a moral basis that was structured to meet its survival needs. Times have changed. People do eat shellfish and/or wear polycotton tops, without fearing for their souls.

Finally, consider that not every human on this planet considers the Abrahamic Godhead to be real. Others simply don't believe He is so proscriptive.

this is one of the easiest questions i have come a crossed.

even from a Christian standpoint.

1 everyone is a sinner.

2 even you.

3 homosexuality is no more of a sin than any sin that you might perpetrate in your life. the bible says so as it state that the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy.

4 saying a homosexual is more of a sinner than you yourself are is not only a sign of incredible ignorance, but a sign that you do not think for yourself and enjoy immersing yourself in the dogma of a church rather than scriptural teachings, thus ridding yourself of the need for individual thought. in other words, religiously you are incredibly lazy as is most of the Christian population.

i have said it before many times and i will say it again

Christians now a days may study the bible, but they rely on other people to interpret it. hence denominations. this is the point where they stop being followers of god and start being followers of people.

Well, why do you think it's okay to say whose lifestyle is right or wrong? It seems to me that many things in the bible, if you are to belive all of the prejudice injected into it from translation to translation, seems to point out major flaws in your lifestyles as well, such as not attending church every sunday, hating others reguardless of what they do, theft, premarital sex, sex after marriage when not meant for procreation, any sort of pleasure, really. Hell, your lifestyle is wrong from birth if you're catholic. So before you go about with this, "how do gays think they have the right to live" load, why don't you skim through that book and look for the other statements it makes, and not just the ones you need at this point in time, and then ask yourself why YOU have the right to live?

Why do you feel YOUR heterosexual relationship is ok?
I grew up in a society where females were second class citizens and even though i didn't know better and that was all i had been exposed to, it still felt wrong and i knew it was not ok. That is how i feel homosexuals feel. being heterosexual does not feel ok to them being homosexual does. That is how they know it is ok.
PS: Quit judging people with your religious quotes. Just because you subscribe to it and it works for you doesn't mean other people do or that it works for them. Remember you can only experience your own experiences you cannot know what other people are experiencing. You can only guess that they feel the same way you do. Which is almost always not the case

Well first of all I would like to say, If you are a christian, aren't you supposed to respect everyone and not judge?? Because if you are then you would be a hypocrite. Just like all the other Christians i have ever met.
People have the right to do as they choose. Without being criticised by homophobic, hypocritical Christians.
No one tells you to not worship a god that you nor anyone else can prove exist, but you do it anyways because it is your right, just as it is theres.

you believe in a book that was made by a human? the bible is used to guide men, and not to translate the passages literally!

so how do you explain this? noah had been known to have a psychotic disorder. when he heard a voice saying that he should build an arc, what if it's not god and just one of the voices in his head? and where is the arc? on top of mt. ararat, where the place is freezing which will take millions of years to change temperature so a dove fying back with a leaf is impossible. now explain that!

Simple answer to that one. Leviticus specifically says at the beginning of that section that the rules are for the Jewish people to stay distinct from the people in the lands around them. I am not a member of the Jewish people, therefore that rule doesn't apply. Simple as that. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?
