People are asking you why it's called a Canadian dollar or what the name of the Canadian dollar is.

Dollars have been the monetary standard in North America for the last century or so and since both countries are so closely tied due to economics it was just easier to call it the dollar. Most canadians refer to our dollar as the looney, after the loon that is printed on it. However I don't think the markets would think well of it if they put so many looneys to the euro or US buck.

Canadians use different money than the US, even if some of the names are the sameand the value of their currency is based on the strength of the economy of that country as compared to others. A Canadian Dollar (a looney) is worth one dollar in Canada. One dollar in Canada is currently worth about 85 cents in the US.
