Check with your local building offices. Make sure that you have a well planned out sketch and approximate start and end date of completion. They can tell you what codes you must follow. Since you did not give any reasonable size to your expansion , it is hard to say what you really need.

get entry to can be a issue as at some destiny date one or both between the residences may be bought & shared driveway isn't suitable. Is there sufficient space contained in the backyard for yet another sources? perfect to have an casual chat with the planning Officer at your Council - take any plans that you've had drawn up with you.
