DITTO!! Just keep on saying stupid stuff like I do, ( I thought it was my little secret) Sometimes I Yell I WANT TO
SPEAK TO A REAL HUMAN BEING NOT A ####### MACHINE!

Sometimes hitting zero works, but most often it simply gets you
disconnected and you have to start all over again!!
So whats to do???? Evidently NOTHING, somethings are just the way they are, so if you don't have one get yourself a speaker
phone maybe make yourself a sandwich and a nice cold drink,
kick off your shoes, or punch call waiting and make another call,
or grab your sweetie and make a little whoppie, and after that
have a cancer stick, and take a nap, who knows by the time you wake up there MIGHT JUST BE A PERSON on the line!!

I hate them too but it is a necessary evil. Imagine how many phone per minute large companies must get. It would takes legions of people to answer and route all the calls if done manually.

All internal costs must be passed on to the consumer in order to remain competitive and profitable.

Its saves money by not having a real receptionist, if the the VME add-on costs @ $5K and the annual wage for a receptionist is $20K, saves the company $15K/year.

Some percentage of inquiries can be handled by IVR systems, and they are efficient for that.

If you need a flesh and blood human, just keep hitting 0
