How will the Whinny Sox avoid being the bottom dwellers that they are? These one shot wonders have the best division in Baseball to contend with. I can see enough improvement with Kansas City for them to over take the Chisox. Whats your call ???

Wow such hostility. Secular Progressive is not playing nice in the sandbox. My Tiger buddy gets busted for having his opinion everyday by loudmouths just like you. What he thinks of the Sox is his right to think. Lets compare the Chisox to the Yankees, do you think? He's been a Tiger fan before they hit the big time. Were you a Chisox fan before they got a spark and one for the first time in almost a 100 years????
Dude whatever.

I think Minnesota is still a team to contend with. Even without Liriano and Radke, The "piranhas" (as whinny ozzie guillen likes to call them because he is jealous that The Twins are a better team) always finds ways to win.

The Indians got better and should contend all season.

Of course The Tigers added Gary Sheffield, and with thier pitching staff should be in the mix all year.

KC has gotten better. I doubt they will lose 100 games. And if this new kid, Alex Gordon, makes the big league club, LOOK OUT!

The whinny sux lost 2 of thier "so-called" aces, and I see them slumping. Even with thier decent offense, how can they win by scoring 10 runs when that pitching will give up 11 runs?

I think The Indians, Twins, and Tigers all battle it out for that division. KC and the whinny sux will fight for 4th place, and I think KC wins that one.

So, to answer your question, the whinny sux will not be able to avoid the cellar (where they rightfully belong).

Geez, the whinny sux win thier 1st WS in 88 years and all of a sudden they think they are as good as the yankees! NOT!
Talk about "one hit wonders"...during those 88 years in between the whinny sux WS wins, The Detroit Tigers have won 4! *and more on the way (hopefully)*

Thank you for asking.

The AL Central will be very interesting to watch this year. Even though Minnesota has won 4 of the past 5 division titles I'm not sure that they can duplicate last year's success especially now that Detroit, Chicago, and Cleveland has improved over the past few years.

Detroit should have won the division last year had it not been for Minnesota's "23-1" miracle run and Chicago won the division and World Series in 2005.

The Twins current pitching staff is very young and inexperienced
and it can't afford to have any injuries to it. I really don't see them finishing no higher than 3rd and possibly 4th if the Indians show up this year.

The only weakness that I see in the White Sox is their bullpen.
Their hitting will score runs and their starters should fair just was well as any other rotation in that division.

I do like the well balanced Cleveland Indians. Another big bat in that line would have been nice.

Detroit looks solid. They have a solid skipper in Jim Leyland, nice bats, decent rotation, and a nice young bullpen. The only question is? Can that rotation pitch as well as it did last year?

Kansas City Royals? There are AA teams that pose more of a threat. If they finish anything higher than 5th then the teams below them should fire their manager.

Its going to be a tight division all year long. If I had to pick the final finish today it would probably be something like:

1) Tigers: They added Sheffield to an already potent lineup. If the young pitching doesn't back slide due to throwing a lot of innings last year they should win the division.

2) Indians: I'll admit Cleveland is my favorite team, but they have a strong core and added some nice compontent parts to fill in problems from last years team. Can they get off to a good start this year, and will the bullpen hold up all season are probably the two most important questions they have to answer.

3) Twins: Their starting pitching being decimated by injury doesn't help, and a good case could be made for putting the WhiteSox here, but I think Gardenhire is a better manager then Guillen and he will get the most out of Minnesota. Its just not going to be enough this year.

4) WhiteSox: Kenny Williams took a few gambles on the offseason. They will hurt this year, but could pay off nicely a year or two down the line.

5) Royals: Their new GM has shaken things up a bit, and they could be on the right track. Its just a shame to see how far this franchise has fallen.

Let's look at this overall and laugh and analyze.
1) Trace the Tiger - The Sox won the season series last year, so your sympathy is not needed. But I will give you sympathy (because that's just how we are in the real city) because your team lost the World Series. We also need no sympathy for not winning a World Series in 88 years, because we won one - 17 MONTH AGO! Sweep!
2)Piranhas - that is not a term of jealousy - it is a term of respect. One that you would understand I would think since the piranhas did in fact beat your Tigers for the AL Central title last year! Figure it out. But nice try.
3)Garcia and McCarthy - no two of our "aces". If you lived in Chicago, you would know that no one is too sad to see Sweaty Freddie go. He was below average for 5 months of the season last year. And McCarthy proved that he was not an ace last year - so try again.
4)I think you need to look at your quote again GP - Our offense is a little better than decent. You will see that soon enough.
5)One man does not a team make. Your fawning over Alex Gordon is laugh inducing!

So the question remains to good ole Ozgard - why would any Yankee fan throw this softball out to Georgie? 360 friend I know that, but here is a question for other Yankee fans to ponder: Tigerboy likes to point out time and time again that the Yankees are choke artists, and that they have not won a title in the 21st century (for like accomplishments -see Detroit). So you agree with him then? Are the Yankee Nation in awe of the amazing accomplishments of the Detroit Tigers? Are the Tigers fans that jealous of success? Did Gorgie cry or have a nervous breakdown after the Sox swept Houston in 2005 to win the World Series? I vote he did both.
So here is what you do - sit back, relax, and compile a long list of excuses detailing why Detroit will have failed this year so when you are watching the Sox this postseason, you will be prepared and can type out your whine after whine after whine. I will pretend that the Sox are a bunch of whiners for a minute. Forget it - they still cannot compete with your crying every day about them. And you will always have your slogan to fall back on - the 2006 Tigers - We're #2!!

The Twins win the division followed by the Tigers, Indians and White Sox the Royals don't have the pieces of the puzzle to climb out of basement.

Don't make me laugh. The detroit guy is on here everyday and is the most opinionated loudmouth around. So what you are saying is that no one can call him out for his silly statements when he makes them. If he makes insults and throws silly nicknames around he should be man enough to take them back his way. I think that the sox guy made good points. he responded to things that were written about HIS team. That is called being a passionate fan, and I applaud him :)

The Tribe, on an analogous time as i'm irritating with regard to the Tigers because of the reality they would be great i think of of the Indians will carry them off. i do now not think of of they are going to triumph over them 11-6 or in spite of it the sequence matchup grew to alter into into very final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days interior the common season, i think of of this is going to be closer. Tigers are a stable group this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. Twins may well be stressful to boot. AL suitable may well be great. I in actuality think of of Jones may well be a bust lower back, and as much as i comprehend D-practice i do now not think of of he may well be what the Tigers prefer.

KC still won't have enough to get out of the cellar. White Sox are done. Third in the division.

What are you smokin? There is no way the Royals will have a better record than the White Sox.
BTW, "whinny" means "neigh" as in: The horse will whinny when it sees me. The Neighing Sox makes no sense.
