I'd like to start a website but i have no idea how to do it. Is it easy or hard to do ?, is it expensive ?. Are they any companies that can help you ?, i found one called 1-2-3-reg.co.uk, are they any good ?
I am in the UK and would ideally like to take advertising if by some miracle i manage to get that far !

In the UK, I highly recommend 1&1 Internet Ltd (despite also owning shares in Pipex, who own 1-2-3Reg)......... I've been using their "1&1 Business" hosting package since end of January 2002 without a glitch.
With both their "1&1 Home" + "1&1 Business" packages, they also throw in £400 worth of FREE software... including a piece of webdesign software called "Netobjects Fusion" worth over £120, which allows you to build professional looking websites even if you don't have a bloody clue what you're doing. My copy also came with a book showing you how to use it.
You also get quite alot of extra's thrown in, too..... which is easier to check out on their website:

While here's some sites on the Netobjects Fusion software:
