For me it is the Green Hostess Snowballs, once a year. Also, our local high school's colors are green and white, so this town has a lot of green in it's wardrobe. It's cool to see the wave of green that sweeps the area, everyone celebrating for just one day the heritage of a country most of us will never see.

Definitely the corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and cornbread.
I always use the packet that comes with the corned beef and cook the carrots and potatoes with it. I add the cabbage last so it comes out perfect. One time of the year you can actually have a one pot meal!

Going to watch my old school play in the munster senior cup final in thomand park and winning.
FYI....
No one in ireland eats corned beef anymore, not even on paddy's day... Bacon and cabbage on the other hand... But there isn't a paddy's day meal per se....
No one in ireland drinks green beer. Ever.
Top o the morning to you is never ever said by anyone here, except if you are watching a film.
Paddy's day in ireland isn't that much fun, cos all the pubs are far too crowded, there are queues for everything, and everyone is off their heads drunk, so it's a very very messy night, with lots of fights....
If you want to come to ireland to experience the craic.... You missed out on saturday when we beat england 43-13 in our first match ever against them in croke park in rugby.
what a day!

The corned beef and cabbage. Nobody makes it as good as my little Pennsylvania Dutch wife.

Everything is made to be light hearted and fun. People get together and do things they normally would do for other holidays. I love the Irish!
