Say tomorrow were greated by the mothersip, and out comes freakin aliens! I'd like to think theyd be as thrilled to find other life as we would be, and theyd be curious, non-hostile, and obviously way technically advanced. How would a meeting like this change the world? Do you think people, atleast over generations would give up religion? Would people form new religions based on aliens? Would we accuire technology from them? Wouldpeople go crazy? Would we even be bilogically similar enough to them to have a meaningful contact? Or would they be so biologically exotic, descended from a different course of evolution, that this would be impossible? Any thoughts on anything, please...

How would a meeting like this change the world? WOW! It would change us dramatically.
Would people give up religion? Why, if GOD created the universe they too are part of his creation.
New religions based on aliens? Probably, people want to believe that it is not over when they die!
Would we acquire new technology? I hope. But they might be aware of our inability to manage the new technology.
Would people go crazy? Probably. This is why we need to be careful when creating technologies and medicine to save the weak. We are screwing up evolution!
Would we be similar? in some ways we would have to be.
Or would they be so different? I don't think so. From a mechanical stand point - they too would have had to evolve from some sort of primal soup and they would not have been able to create such technical equipment without similar features as we have.
If we are visited that would be cool as hell! I hope I live long enough to see it.

An alien would have to be based on some type of DNA.
Like any culture meeting another culture there would be curiosity An assessment of each other,their intelligence and technology.
Their beliefs would clash and the inevitable would happen,the most aggressive and advanced would result in conflict that would mimic what has been going on,on earth ever since learned to talk.
Wars.

How the world would change would depend on why the aliens
decided to come to earth.
The aliens may want man as a source of food or labour.
As if they got to our planet first chances are their technology is 100x better then ours.
The aliens will have their our intrests in mind before helping man.
Religion
Well I have'nt seen anywhere in the Bible about there not being aliens,But I guess the aliens might know a god like creature they worship and man might worship it instead.

Think of a similar scenario of when Columbus meet the Indians. We think of ourselves as very intelligent and that it would not be the same, but I am sure the Indians thought themselves intelligent as well.
So basically these incredibly intelligent beings (They would have to be to be able to fly here from undetected planets) would use us as they wish and subjugate us. At first it may not be that way, but eventually it would develop into some relationship like that. Think of anytime in history a stronger party has encountered a weaker one with no accountability.
On the other hand they could be friendly, but intelligence and friendly do not always equate. They would pretty much do with us whatever benefited them best. Not vice versa. It would be nice to think otherwise, but I believe the above would be the case.

Most Presidents since the 1940's have shown interest, some more than others. But President Reagan said it right! WE ALL would come together as a HUMAN race on Earth. We all, would not hate each other, but I just know that some money grubbing idiots would try and make a buck off of them(Aliens).

As far as us meeting aliens I really don't see that happening in the near future. I think that they would be nice untill they found out that there technology was creater than ours, then they would attempt to take us over and rule. If you are a person that believes in the ufo's we are seeing in the sky now then they are already taking a look out our defenses and how we fight. They will come up with ways to take it over. I think we would eventually acquire technology to win back the planet. Personally I don't believe in aliens.

IF they Came here to meet us. It just might be the earth's saving grace!!!! Think about it. They would most likely teach us about their technologies, And we could use them to save our world.
Say for example, They could teach us how to Stop and reverse global warming. They could help us make our atmosphere clean as the days before us! They could Make it possible to go into a new world order, that could bring us long awaited peace and prosperity!! Think OF the possibilities!!! The World as part of the UNIVERSAL PICTURE!!!!!!!!!

Let's say that were even feasible. The notion of other life, which is relatively impossible. But hypothetically it would either work one of two ways. We could not cohabitate with them, and be seen as rivals. OR we could be seen as a host planet and they can leech off os us or take advantage as we know more about this planet than they do. People here will do whatever thry wish, from initiating cults religions, groups, even to the point that going crazy will be a way to cope with it. They may even be more advanced than us and then we would be become the weaker and they would succeed us. Or it may even work our own advantage and we can control them, but then we as humans would abuse that priviledge , they would rebel and we would be right back at what I first mentioned, we could not share this planet and they where would be severe termination of life.
