They first episodes of both aired in September 1964. Technically, the Addams Family came first - 18 September 1964, the Munsters aired 6 days later - 24 September 1964.

well there both in the same year of 1964 thou the munsters 1st on the air was sept 24,1964 and the adams family was also in 1964 thou i dont know what month and also the munsters stayed on the air much longer than the adams family.

The Addams family actually came out in a New York magazine(cartoons) in the 1930's. The Addam's family Television series came out in Sept. 18,1964.
