Renee,

I actually tested this yesterday. I had an old cracked LCD screen and put both a sharpie mark and a pen mark. A small amount of rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth got both off. I don't suggest you clean the screen like that. Alcohol may damge the screen, but in this situation you'll be ok. Just don't use a lot and don't do this often.

to clean the screen I'd go with http://www.pixelclean.com

Good luck.

Your not a dumbass and yes you can get ink off, just put a tiny bit of alcohol or mineral spirits or paint thinner on a rag and gently wipe off the ink, but have a damp rag ready with clean water and immediatly wipe off the area. I assume you have a glass screen because I don't think you can even get ink from a pen on gel.

Try rubbing alcohol if it's a glass screen. If it a gel screen, I don't know what to use. Alcohol might melt it.

careful with nail polish remover, use that as a final hotel - it could dissolve any plastic. attempt methyl alcohol, generally called gasoline-line anti-freeze or rubbing alcohol. it rather is far less harsh, and generally removes everlasting marker. on condition that it fairly is real obdurate, attempt the nail polish remover (acetone), yet attempt it in a small nook someplace first, to make valuable it does not decrease to rubble the demonstrate (could make it greater "foggy")
