How can you bandy about words like "enemies" and talk so much about how we have to go fight our enemies.

Christ said specifically that we are to love our enemies (thus, neatly eradicating the whole concept of enemy, because they wouldn't be our enemies if we loved them), not bomb them.

What gives?

The bible also says "There is a time for war and there is a time for peace".

They're cowards. If they _really_ believed this was a "just" war and that those "enemies" needed to be stopped, they would enlist.

They're all Yellow Elephants. They should suit up or shut up.

It seems yahoo is _targeting_ the Operation Yellow Elephant URL and blocking it. I can post _without_ the complete URL, but I get a "security/virus warning" when I post the unaltered URL. How interesting....

Do a search for the three words to find it.

The Bible can be used to prove anything. I've made this same argument with some Christians I know, and they've been able to point to other passages that say that it's our moral duty to destroy those that attempt to destroy us (which, by the way, is the argument Moslem terrorists use). Cheek for a cheek, eye for an eye. That kind of thing.

My opinion, having done a little self-study and research, is that Christ taught exactly what you're saying. However, men (like his disciples) came up with their own twisted concepts. Too many Christians follow the word of Mark, Luke, John, etc. and not Christ. They're confused.

In the words of Jesus:
John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

Defense of others, when attacked, is the ultimate Christian sacrifice. So laying down ones life, as in war against those who seek to destroy a civilization and it's people, is not contrary to Christian belief. If you believe that the war we are fighting is against a culture who wishes to destroy us, then we are justified in our actions. The difference of opinion seems to be that those opposed to the war do not believe we are threatened. Those in favor, myself included, believe the enemy we are fighting desires to destroy our civilization in the name of their prophet. They truly believe that those who do not submit to their beliefs are to be killed. They are very patient. They are willing to keep fighting both overtly and through the soft invasion of immigration and reproductive math. Those on our side, who support the War on Terror (and the war against islamofascist domination) are fighting to see our culture and religion preserved for our descendants.

The concept of just war which allows Christians to defend themselves, their faith, and their way of life. If tomorrow the islamics were to stop their mad attacks on the west we would be at peace

Good points, though the question is if Christianity would be around today had it not stood up for itself in the past.

True, but people only want to listen when they think it'll help them. I like how that guy quotes Ecclesiastes which is the old testament so is of course overuled by Jesus, christians always say the OT doesn't matter, unless it suits them.

Why are Christians such a threat to people. Have you heard of Christians blowing up a building and killing innocent people? Have you heard of Christians recruiting suicide bombers to kill those who are not Christians or who do not believe the way they do? Have you forgotten the way the enemy killed 3,000 of our innocent people and would love to kill all Americans?

My enemies, you are correct that I am to love them. However, he also asked that we defend those who are being led away to slaughter, and no man hath greater love than this, that he lay down his life for a friend. Which is why soldiers fight and die to protect their families.

We ARE supposed to love our enemies, but not let them trample over us, either.

This is just my opinon of what I've been through with them. I wouldn't pee on one if it caught fire in my car.
