From a Conservative point of view I think that Obama is going to be dangerous in this race. He is a fantastic orator and from what I've seen on our side of the aisle; if Rudy slips even a little we've got REAL trouble. To answer the original question: No, I do not support him. But I do recognize the fact that he will shut out Hillary all together and that he will be a force to recon with in this race. Can anyone say Bush / Gore ?

I support his bid because I think voters should have a wide variety of candidates to listen to and choose from.
And I think he might actually BE a uniter (instead of just claiming to be one)--he wants to help Americans find our common ground and work to solve problems, which is what I want to. I'm so tired of the partisan bickering and logjams in Congress and nothing getting done. Our country has a lot of critical issues that need to be addressed, and he might be the right man for the job.
We have enough time between now and the primaries to evaluate him as well as all the other candidates. I hope they are clear about where they stand on all the important issues, and that voters will vote on those answers instead of shallow things like their name, their race, their gender, their looks, or even their party affiliation.

Yes. You need a young, decisive president to save America and get us out of the mess Bush got us into.
If elected you'd have a leader as good as FDR or Lincoln, as well as the first black president, fulfilling the constitutional amendment that all men are created equal.
Wingshooter 08 what the ****'s wrong with you?
Haven't you heard of the separation of church and state?
It doesn't matter what religion Obama is, he'll do a better job than the Christian redneck who started an ilegal and immoral war in Iraq.

Absolutely. I bought my t- shirt yesterday. the guy is the best chance we have at making a change, which is long overdue. Once the debates and campaigning really starts, he is gonna mop the floor with Hillary. He is the first politician to come a long in a long time that can truly inspire people. Look at what people with "experience" have done to our country.

It's far too early for me to support any one candidate, but I will say this - Obama has just as much, if not more credibilty to run things on a national level than Rudy Guilliani does. I like him as a person, and I loved his keynote speach at the DNC in 2004. He needs to hit harder, though, when it comes to this ridiculous war and bringing our troops home where we need them.

i think he stands a fighting chance, and most likely the republicans won't the next election America wants a stable economy again and republicans can't deliver that, i for one am a fan of what he stands for there are lots of people who are getting ready to bash him for his back round and his sketchy past but hell if bush could be a drunky and win why can't a black Muslim win.

I support his bid because like anyone else who meets the requirements he should be able to run if he so choses.
But he is a lightweight with no real experience who votes every vote along party lines. The US needs a leader, not another party lackey.

No. He's an empty suit. He has no record of accomplishment & hasn'r managed anything larger than a Senate office. Last time he was in a leadership position was in law school.

He has a certain electricity about him which I haven't seen in a Democratic candidate in a long, long time. We have a year to evaluate his qualifications.
All of those who are saying he is inexperienced probably have no idea what experience he does have.
