pH = -log[H+]

It give us a measure of the acidity of the solution by knowing the pH based on some "knowns" that we have already calculated [H+] for (pH strips).

So, you test a solution with a pH strip and it changes a certain color. You compare your strip to the range printed on the pH box, and you can estime the [H+] in your solution.

pH is the defined as the negative logarithm of the H+(hydrogen ion) concentration,(pH=-log[H+],where [H+] is the H+ concentration),of a solution.pH shows how acidic a solution is.The pH of a solution can be determined with a pH indicator,a weak organic substance which changes color in an acidic or basic(alkaline)solution.Example are methyl orange,litmus strip,phynolphthalene.

Ph refers to the level of acidity or basicity. Soultions with lower PH levels are acidic and higher PH levels base. There is a formula to figure out what a PH level is but it is very advanded and complecated. This is a formula: pH=-log10(ah+). The "ah" is the activity of h+ ions. In dilute solutions there is a different equation. pH=-log10((h+)/1mol/L))=log10[ h+] This gives you the molarity.
