Just for the heck of it, I will repeat the answer.

OK - you know the answer is 288, but how? First, you've got 4 denominators: 3, 4, 32, and 9. You know that 32 is divisible by both 32 and 4, and that 9 is divisible by both 9 and 3. So you've just got to find a denominator in common between 9 and 32. Answer b (64) is not evenly divisible by 9. But the product of 32 and 9 is 288, answer C. So that's how you know the answer - and you can double check by dividing all the numbers into 288.

Just step through it logically and you'll get it. Good luck.

since 32 is larger that 24 thats out of the question

since 3 doesnt go into 64 evenly thats out

288is divisible evenly by all the given denominators
there fore 288 is your answer

The Lowest Common denominator is the smallest number that all the "bottom parts" of the fractions will divide into an exact number of times

9 and 32 don't divide into 24 exactly so that's out
9 does't divide exactly into 64 so that's out
they all divide exactly into 288 - so that's it!

The least common demoniator is the lowest number that will go into all of them.

For instance

for 1/3 and 3/4 is 12
so 1/3=4/12 and 3/4=9/12

so try all the numbers and find out which one will work with the demon. of each (3,4,32,9)

make sure the numerator is a whole number after conversion.

to convert to the lcd multiple the number it takes to convert the demoniator to the lcd
1/3 times 4/4 equals 4/12
3/4 times 3/3 equals 9/12

the answer is not d 3072.
