start with all information u have readily available birth certificates dates of birth death full names from immediate family back family bibles the national archives are an excellent resource to begin yoir search as well as the towns cities states where births and deaths were registered the national archives will release census data to you after 70 years i think you can also locate burial plots through cemetery research
