Do you get tired of being referred to as "the twins" instead of by your own names? If you're identical twins, what's really different about you?

That "different" part sound ignorant. I mean, what's different between you and your twin (or other "multiple") that people who really know you are aware of but others aren't? Like interests, or habits, etc.

Did your parents always make you wear identical clothes or did they always let you be different?

I am a twin. We are not identical, so when we tell people we are twins, they always say something like "Are you sure you twins?" and they have this dumb grin on their face. It's like, "Yes, we are sure we're twins, but what a clever remark. NOT!" It gets SO ANNOYING!!!
But, it is kinda fun to have a twin because we have good conversations. But, more often than not, she annoys me to the point of insanity. And we fight. A lot. Not just argument, full on, old fashioned, beating the **** out of each other.
But, being a twin isn't THAT bad, although she often has me wishing that I was an older sister instead of a twin, or an only child. And we don't have a lot in common, so most stuff is different about us. She is very preppy, I like to look original. She is a stick thin blond, I am not overweight, just... MORE. I am taller, a little thicker,(not fat, though.) And I have very dark hair.
Are personalities are opposite, but we are still 'The Girls' or 'The Twins". And yes, I do hate being called that.
And because we are so different, whenever someone says something like "They are brothers but they don't act anything alike", about someone, I will immediately start saying stuff like, "Just because they are brothers doesn't mean they have to be alike, they are individuals!"
But, I have to say, being a twin isn't all bad, and I love my sister very much.

I'm not a twin but my boyfriend is! Him and his brother both refer to each other as twin, sometimes they will call each other by their name. They are identical twins, they live together, they use to work together and when they were at work they dressed alike. They are best friends and I couldn't see them not living together or at least living next door to each other later on in life. When they were little their mom use to dress them up alike. My boyfriend is more serious about money and making sure everything is paid for and his brother just spends the money and saves what he needs to save. They get upset with each other but it only last a few minutes. They are best friends and nothing can come between them.

I hope i helped a little

I'm glad I accidentally found this question. I'm the mother of fraternal girl twins(3 months old) It's interesting getting some insight from other twins. People often ask me, "how are the twins?" or "how are the girls?" I try to call them by name. I'd like to start early helping them develop their own separate identities.

By the way, they have had totally different personalities since the day they were born.

I have 14 year old twins. Most people refer to them by their name but people who haven't seen them in a few years refer to them as"are these the twins" My kids don't really even think of themselves as twins, just siblings.

Well i am not a twin but i am a triplet. I think the worst thing about it is that if one has done something bad the other two are branded too. Also another things is being called the triplets not by our name.
