I ama democrat and work with disabled adults who are dependent upon Medicaid and Social Security to survive. George Bush's budget is calling for a 77 billion dollar cut in Medicaid, which will not even save us money, as the cost is just passed down to the states, who in turn cut services to the people who need them. I was raised in a Republican household, but once I started working in this field, there was no way I could support Republicans anymore.

For now I republican. I do not want people legislating everything in life. The meddling reduces pay scales and stifles ideas and innovation. It seems democrats want to be fair to all but in doing so cause more pain and injustice. I fall on the side of providing opportunity for all so that people will not be limited in what they can achieve. Once they achieve, it will not be taken. This is where I think Dems lack. They see this as unfair and want to take from some to give to others. As long as there are laws in place to protect the lower class, then I'm for taking the reigns off.

I am a Democrat with some reservations. I think we need someone who can exhibit strong leadership and a VISION for this Country. I want people who make education and how we treat children their FIRST priority. I think GENERALLY Democrats are better at this.
I do agree with many of the recent criticisms labelled at democrats, the answer to everything is NOT tax, spend, and pass new laws.
But Republicans also SOUND good on paper for limited Government, then want to regulate who you can marry, Women's bodies, and worst of all the lives of young Americans for corporate interests, NOT human rights.

I am republican, but very moderate.
My father was democrat, and my mother didn't care about politics at all.
I guess I have always been in favor of a strong military and believed in the rights of the business owners as well as the workers. I went in the military and stayed long enough to retire, that may have cemented my view. Who knows maybe it is because I grew up watching Alex Keaton.

Well I'm republican because my beliefs tend to fall with those of the republican party. Tough on crime, don't believe in gay marriage, tend to be more religious, etc. I don't agree with them on the abortion issue though, I think every woman has to make that decision for herself and no man in office or not should have any say in the matter.
I tend to vote for the candidate that I agree with most on the issues which is usually a republican but I like Obama and he's democrat.

I hate to be the one to say this, but Democrats and Republicans are just different wings on the same bird. I'm an independent conservative and I tend to vote for conservative third party candidates. I believe in small government, low taxes, and for government to follow the constitution and stay out of peoples personal lives.

I'm what Canadians call a Red Tory. At the local level, I think socialism works rather well. At the national level, a fiscally conservative outlook is best. However, I am not enamored of Republican Imperialist foreign policies, such as what Bush has going on now.

I'm a Republican! I like smaller government and having them stay out of my life, I don't like taxes, especially when the money they take from me that I work hard for is used for social welfare programs and such! Liberalism is like socialism, what's mine is yours to use. Republicans are true capitalist and what they have work for we want to keep! A good example of Liberalism is Hilary saying that she wants to take the Oil profits from the oil companies and put it in a fund for their use! Republicans actually spend more money on charities than Liberals do, they never put their money where their mouth is and try to use class envy to divide and conquer! I'm a formner Vietnam Marine 67-68 USMC and I believe in a strong military and might does make right when used properly.
