i know the cation is the oxonium ion, so what is the opposite called?

I believe the call them oxide cations. It's usually associated with a metal, for example

VO+ would be vanadium oxide cation.

Of course, there is also the oxonium ions of organic chemisrty

the respond is Oxide ion subsequently the call Carbon diOxide(CO2) that's the anion of a million Carbon atom and a pair of Oxygen atom or Hydrogen PerOxide(H2O2)that's the anion of two hydrogen atoms and a pair of Oxygen atoms.

Because it's not a special state, it's just called an oxygen ion. I'm pretty sure you can get away with calling it oxide.
