The colleges who actually pay that much get tons of support from boosters, ticket sales, Jersey sales, TV, ect. very little comes directly from the tuition. College football is an approx 10 billion dollar industry. That defiantly covers the coach's salary, the free ride to the players, and the training facility.

Yes!
It's the fans who pay for these ridiculous salaries with higher ticket prices. College football will soon be like the NFL with the stands filled by corporate types and their clients. How many kids do you see in the stands?

College football is now a major arms race fueled by money for coaches, facilities and recruits. Each year fewer teams will be able to be competitive.

high tuition is caused by overpaid faculty and reckless administrators. costly infrastructure refurbishing and technology also eat at the heart of tuition dollars.

the sports budget receives little funding through tuition revenues. Saban was paid mostly from boosters who would not take "no" for an answer.

Not really, unless the College is using the tuition is pay for the salary. I think they get the money for the salary from the Boosters though. I think it is sad though that they can't get the boosters to give them money for upkeep so they have to raise tuitions.

I agree, plus all the kids who play sports in America's colleges and universities wouldn't even be there if not for their athletic scholarships.

As for sports teams making money for their schools; all that money goes right back into the program, not the real students.

I mean, we'll be paying loans off into our 30s at this rate.

No, the profits turned out by college football teams that are in the Top 25 are insane, and it does nothing but help the University.

generally football program generates enough money to pay for the rest of the sports programs at a college. maybe the universities might want to start looking at where it's wasting money.

Not really. Successful teams bring in quite a bit from boosters and gear sales.

No. People get paid what they are worth. That is how a free market works. Maybe you should take an introductory economics course.
