The location of the Tomb of Christ has been know for 2000 years. Maps to it and drawings of it have been around since the mid first century. It had a shrine erected over it in the early second century. A full church in the fourth century. And is visited by hundreds of thousand of people every year.
And it is empty. Has been since its occupant resurrected about 2000 years ago.
The "box" that was uncovered in 1980 was located in the wrong city. Does not meet the description of a cave with a large stone sealing the door. Did not contain any grave clothes in which the body of the Bible Jesus was wrapped. And was lettered with a type of Hebrew script not in use at the time Jesus lived.
Plus, it is the 71st such "tomb" to be found with the name "Jesus" on it. The name was very, very common at that time. In fact, there are three other "Jesus" mentioned just in the New Testament. Roughly 1 out of every 1,000 men had "Jesus" as one or part of their name.

I'll answer this one more time, in hopes that you won't flip out on people who believe this is the body of christ in that coffin.
Who cares?
If you believe wholly in Christianity, that your God's child is truly the savior and was resurrected, there's nothing science can do to disprove it. Faith requires faith, not proof. If there were proof that this tomb isn't the tomb of jesus and those weren't his bones, then it wouldn't be faith anymore, it'd be fact. And I think we can all agree that religion is not nor will ever be fact. It's faith, and the ability to uphold that faith no matter what. If Christianity does cave in because of this, then it only goes to show how poor Christianity has become in matters of faith. 'Nuff said.
Once again, I'm an ex-Christian converted (by myself) to shinto. If that's enough for you to say "He doesn't know anything! HA!" then fine. Just wanted to make that point. ^^

His critics are arming themselves for battle. "Simcha has no credibility whatsoever," says Joe Zias, who was the curator for anthropology and archeology at the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem from 1972 to 1997 and personally numbered the Talpiot ossuaries. "He's pimping off the Bible … He got this guy Cameron, who made 'Titanic' or something like that—what does this guy know about archeology? I am an archeologist, but if I were to write a book about brain surgery, you would say, 'Who is this guy?' People want signs and wonders. Projects like these make a mockery of the archeological profession." Cameron's reply: "I don't profess to be an archeologist or a Biblical scholar. I'm a film producer. I found it compelling. I think we're on firm ground to say that much."

Joseph of Arimethea died and was buried in France. If they find a body they can not prove who it was. If Christianity is so fragile to have the people who worship in it I feel sorry for them.

I am not certain it is really Jesus' tomb, but I sure hope that it is, and that the bones found belong to him and to his wife (Mary Magdalene) and younger son. The bones of their daughter Sarah, never made it to Jerusalem; so they may still be in Southern France or in the UK.

You are pre-judging the outcome of an event that you have not made clear. If you understood a little more history and had a little less superstitious paranoia, your posting would make sense. Clevergirl... Judah is the name of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel..... not JUDAS.

I believe it was Christs soul that went to heaven not His whole body. But it also says He had a son? 'Judah, son of Jesus' beside Him and Mary Magdalene, I don't understand that bit, why would He name His son after the one who betrayed him?

I've learned their are two things to never get into a debate about and that is:
1) Religion
2) Politics
Another thing I've learned is, the only certain things in life are:
1) Change (excluding vending machines).
2) Death
3) Taxes
That's all I'm going to say on this subject. :-)
