Yes. liberals must reject the concept of God. To the liberal man is God. You can see this in their absolute believe that man is responsible for everything(global warming), that man is not special among God's creations(animal rights), life is not special(abortion rights). The crowning glory of this philosophy of course is the Victorian era myth of Darwinism, postulated before cell structure was known, and DNA unheard of. This totally discredited myth is defended by liberals who use the obvious fact of natural selection(all arctic rabbits are white) to defend the absurd claim that all life started as single cell animals and then one of them decided to become a goat, another a whale, and yet another a man. I don't have the faith needed to buy into that idiocy. The bottom line is Conservatives believe God is God and liberals believe man is God

Since most liberals are religious no. In fact its the reverse. Here's just one example: Last year the "Christian Coalition" forced their new president to resign after he tried to get the organization to start doing more than political action. Specifically, he thought they should also attend to the tasks Christ commanded us to do--like helping the poor and caring for the sick.

Their reason: they didn't want to be distracted from their political agenda--and such a program might make some of their followers angry and cut donations.

So much for the "religiousity" of the so-called Christian right. I'll take the liberals, thank you--at least some of them are trying to do what Christ taught.

That won't admit it but it seems to be true. Liberalism is their religion. There are books out there that show this. How different aspects of the Bible have parallels in their way of thinking, such as Global Warming is their End Of Time story etc. and the parallels go on and on. Liberals will not be confused by the facts. Just as a hard-headed fundamentalist will not listen to another account of the Bible, liberals will not listen to facts that would change there mind.

Yes, liberals use everything as a substitute for religion. They use politics, money, power, those are the religious beliefs of many liberals. That's not to say there are not liberals out there that have good decent beliefs, but overwhelmingly Conservatives tend to have more of a regard for God. That's why the statitists recently have proven that Conservatives are much more generous with their money for the needy, Jesus tells us to be generous with our money for others that don't have any, religous people tend to be much more generous with their money, the connection isn't hard to see.

Balderdash! Talk about false generalization.

Well, introductions are in order. FYI. Meet me. I am a Christian of the Lutheran persuasion. Furthermore, because of Christ's words, because of the Biblical injunction to help the poor, bring hope to a fallen world, feed the hungry, love our enemies etc.. I am a liberal.

In fact, more introductions are in order. Try reading the Sojourners magazines. Try reading about the Simple Way, Rutba House, and other communities striving to follow Christ's teachings. Though none of them would label themselves "liberal" I am sure you probably would label them as such.

Many, many liberals are very religious... they just don't let it be their cry so they can do anything they want and claim it is God's way.

It is a con lie that liberals aren't religious.. I don't know why they bother.. Bush apparently is religious or " born again" and look at how evil he is.. so I think they should just keep all that to themselves.

You know.." those without sin, should not cast the first stone.. or something like that....

What IS true, however, is that many conservatives use religion as a substitute for actually thinking for themselves.God is their excuse to codemn what they damn well please.

Liberals use politics to help the working class prosper.

Religion and politics are mutually exclusive. Only Republicans seem to "worship" their politicians.

Why do right wingers get so desperate to defame the left that they say inflammatory crap that has no basis in fact? Churches are just as full of Democrats as they are Republicans. Maybe you're getting confused because they understand the concept of the separation of church and state and you do not. Or maybe the obvious is true and you can do little but flame. Who knows which it is, but this question is childish.
