Hey, I need help, My mom fell while she was taking a walk and I think shes broken her nose. If anyone has taken health classes please help, we dont have insurance, so we can't go to the hospital. Is there anything I can do to treat her? Shes bleeding really bad, and I'm not 100% positive if she broke it. Any help?

apply an ice pack to her nose and have her pinch her nostril together for about 10 to 15mins. then have her take ibuprofen for pain, swelling and inflammation. is she on blood thinners like aspirin or plavix or coumadin? try those first. usually in a couple of days when the swelling goes down u can assess if the nose is broken or not.

You need to tip her head back and apply pressure to the bridge of her nose until the bleeding stops. Once you get the bleeding stopped look at her nose to see if it looks symetrical. If it looks ok then she is fine. An ER doc just recently told me that they don't do much for broken noses anymore unless they are really badly broken and you need it taken care of for medical reasons etc. If the bleeding won't stop though you may want to take her to urgent care so they can stop the bleeding. Give it about 15 minutes though to see if the bleeding stops with applying pressure.

Don't be joker lah... send your mother to the nearest clinic or hospital . Which are the most important ? Insurance or life ? I don't think government will be cruel to your mother . Take her now.... go to ER / A&E , Oncall doctor are waiting for your mother and I will do the X-ray on her nasal bone... faster...

Take her to the ER. They have a duty to treat no matter what. If she is low income she can apply to not have to pay, or pay a lower amount.
