About Leaonardo Da Vinci?

I am doing paper about Leaonardo Da Vinci's inventions whether they are mathmatical, scientific, or art. What all did he do?

Too much to actually list here. He was a scientist, anatomist, engineer, sculptor and painter and even a map maker among other things.

He designed many inventions, almost none of which he ever built. His most famous invention would probably be his glider which was a fixed wing flying machine. He also invented a rudimentary helicopter (which wouldn't be very practical as it wouldn't take off, but it *would* slow a fall). Da Vinci also came up with the first parachute, ideas for a submarine and even a diving suit. He also designed a tank; an idea that wouldn't be put into use until WWI. Nobody at the time was interested in his inventions though.

As for his inventions in art, he was constantly experimenting with new paints and techniques; most of his own invention. In fact, the smokey/hazy look of the Mona Lisa was from a technique he developed (called sfumato) which later became a widely used technique by painters but up to that time nobody had thought of it.

For science, he investigated the properties of light, human anatomy, botany, geology, hydrodynamics and astronomy. In math he investigated perspective (to be used in his paintings) and geometry.
