to say Audi would copy their interior from a Chevy is doing Germany craftsmanship an injustice, but really, it would be the other way round. personally i've been for a long time disappointed by the cheap plastic look of American car interiors, and lack of character in styling, and while this is not the perfect apples to apples comparisson, i happened to, coincidentally, be comparing interiors of a Corvette, one american car whose exterior i consider very well done, and a Ferrari 360...The vette has a lot of growing to do in terms of interior appearance

Audis are pretty reliable and a smoothe drive type of car. The interior and exterior are both amazing. Chevy Impalas are okay, but truly they are a bunch of crap.

Higher priced cars don't model themselves after lower priced cars, quite the opposite. Tuesday hit the nail on the head, GM makes crap plastic interiors and it affects their sales. I was seriously thinking of buying a Vette conv a year or two ago. The exterior was Corvette, the interior was Chevette!

I think German interior designers would not consider copying why should they read any road test Audi comes way in front of Mercedes and BMW for interior fit and finish.
