I do, but they're never as good as the book! Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire was pretty good, though, but still not as good as the book (plus, I like how they got David Tennant to play Barty Crouch Jr.)!!
Stormbreaker was also amazing, even though I prefered the book!

Some books make good movies and others don't ... and not all of the 'good movies' are made from 'novels' (fiction) ... some are made from 'short stories' and some are made from 'non-fiction' books. I love to read and read about 5 books a week. I also love to see movies, especially when I can 'read the book first' and compare the two after.
If you 'dream' in animation, then you might consider going into 'computer design' and learn how to do that 'animation' and you could be an 'Oscar winner' someday ... and 'maybe' that will be because you are a writer, or a screenwriter, or an 'animator' of the story ... I don't think that your 'two questions' are 'separate' at all, since they give me a 'better look' at who you are and 'where' you are 'coming from.'

I do think that books make some of the best movies, but and this is a big BUT... if they are going to make a movie about a really popular book they need to try and stay as true to the book as possible. I know that they can't be the same, but at least follow the story. I hate it when you have read a book and go to see it and they have changed to story so much it's nothing but the names of the characters and little else. Prime example would be Eragon, great book really, really bad movie. On the other side you have Lord of the Rings, great book great movie. It's all about how the film makers approach the project.

Well, like said before me, they make the best and the worst. The thing about this subject is, usually you can not fit a whole novel into a motion picture. Even the Lord of The Rings, which lasted a whole more than 9 hours, left out many things from the books. That's the key, is choosing the right things to include and leave out. When certain things and/or characters are left out, it sometimes ruins the whole movie, but yet it must be done. It's just a matter of leaving out the right stuff. In my opinion, one of the most successful novel writers in this area, would be Michael Crichton. He wrote classics such as Jurassic Park and Disclosure, and also stuff you may have never heard about like Congo and Timeline. Some of them turned out way better than others in a movie, but in my opinion the books themselves are all almost equally amazing.
In closing, the book is always better than the movie, but that doesn't mean that the movie isn't good.
As for dreams I'd rather not talk about mine since they are usually quite disturbing. But a dream is the experience of envisioned images, sounds, or other sensations during sleep. The events of dreams are often impossible or unlikely to occur in physical reality, and are usually outside the control of the dreamer. The exception is lucid dreaming, in which a dreamer realizes that they are dreaming, and they are sometimes capable of changing the oneiric reality around him or her and controlling various aspects of the dream, in which the suspension of disbelief is often broken. Dreamers may experience strong emotions while dreaming. Frightening or upsetting dreams are referred to as nightmares. The discipline of dream research is oneirology.

Sort of. I've read the books, then i see the movie that they created from that book...and I'm disappointed....sometimes to the point that i should have never of saw the movie. I read The Da Vinci Code. I went and saw the movie when it was released...and i didn't like it...there was too many differences.
If they are going to turn a book into a movie, they need to make it similar, or if they are going to tweak it, don't put extra things into it...and if they take something out, don't like it be something major or very noticeable.
*and i dream with real people, like what we see when we're awake....like the people look real and everything*

its only good if you see the movie first, i have never watched a movie after reading that book and had a good experience, i honestly believe that the 4 - 10 part mini series is the best way to bring a book to a screen, but books take you into the mind of the characters, and movies and TV never will, unless you do it with a cheesy voice over
and no i dream real life and i dream in color too, its usually chaotic that makes sense in the dream but is total nonsense when i think about it after i wake up, the most intense dreams i had wher when i was in the hospital from my car wreak, apparently morphine gives you long drawn out very detailed dreams

I also see the book in movie style in my head as I am reading and you're right about doing a better job. You'd think that with as many collaborators as they have, they'd get it right. Granted, some movies are really great but the book gives so much more detail. And BTW, I dream in real life it seems. I always see real people and places...almost as if i've been there or will be there!?! Crazy stuff?!

same here...some movies made from books suck, some books not made into movies would be great. It just depends on what book it is and if the screenwriters do a good job.
P.S. i think it depends what kind of person you are that affects how a person dreams.

thats true most movies ive seen that have been based on a book are let downs compared the the book. Harry Potter, da vinci code, bridge to terabithia to name a few. its a lot better to watch it in your head because the "actors" you come up with are always better than the ones they choose for the real movie. i dream in like real-life althought most of the time i dont remember what i dream

Books make bad movies, unless you see the movies first and then read the book. I get so mad at the Harry Potter movies for changing things and leaving things out.
