The Americans feel threatened because of the terrorism of 9/11 but then so do all people of the world because many countries lost citizens. Yes the world is under threat and the stress of that just not in the US but globally is making medical costs go up, mental health issues are increasing and the polarization of the globe.
Many times the terrorists are terrorizing their own people more than the west.
Frankly it's incredibly stupid no matter who is involved and who is terrorizing whom.

It comes in over VLF by an, as yet, undisclosed department of the Federal Government. Let's face it. The average lowlife doesn't have that kind of capapbility, able to operate with impunity without being detected by the F.C.C.
You're right. It's not good for your health to be under pressure. However, justice isn't the province of humanity. It may have the privilige conferred, but when it is manifest will backfire on it's abusers.
Never known it to be different.

I don't live in constant fear of being attacked. The way I see it, I live in Houston and we've got pretty much every form of person here, if one of the neighborhood Muslims went all jihad on us (which I doubt they will, they're all f'ing awesome), the best place would be is right next to them that way I don't have to learn to live without a limb. When you don't mind dying, there isn't much that someone can threaten you with.
Now Bush... I fear him. Kill me, sure, but I'd like to die with my civil liberties intact.

I am not sure that many US citizens actually live in fear. After 9-11, we were told almost daily that we would be attacked and nothing EVER happened. I think that most of the country moved past the "terrorist threat" years ago.

I don't. But you can bet the elected officials do. Anyone who is at the head of the country when an attack occurs will feel the wrath of it's citizenry. Just like the N.O. debacle.
Can you hear it?
Why did they allow that? Some even think the government did it. Why didn't we spend more to protect ourselves. How dare them. As usual, knee jerk reactions.

this is the situation we in u.s. locate ourselves in. surely, we've 2 tiers of protection for our u . s ., our electorate and our shape. One is the criminal Justice equipment. the different is the dep. of protection. temporarily, the activities of 9/11 have shown that we face a clean style of possibility that falls someplace between the two. Hijacking an plane replaced into traditionally against the regulation and dealt with via the criminal Justice equipment. Flying guided missiles into homes replaced into traditionally a protection tension action and dealt with via the DOD. Terrorism crosses the line between the two. In reaction we got here up with the Patriot Act. i think of, and so did the contributors of Congress from the two events who handed it, it replaced right into a good stability. in the previous couple of election cycles there has been various posturing and condemnation solid upon the President and the Patriot Act as some style of seriouse breach of constutional protocol and theory. This replaced into usually nonsense and basically completed for political reasons, you realize, enjoying to the backside. linked is a piece of writing you could locate exciting. i do no longer understand approximately everybody else yet i've got faith that the Patriot Act is a prudent degree to handle the very real possibility we face. to return to the status quo earlier this possibility to our u . s . is neutralized is basically foolhardy. would you prefer to board a airplane the place no person is screened earlier boarding? the place we don't bypass thorough steel detectors or have our bags X-rayed? it incredibly is the way it was. it incredibly is now no longer prudent, is it? comparable for the Patriot Act. I do agree that close monitoring of those entrusted with it fairly is substantial. i've got faith it incredibly is additionally being dealt with. whilst abuse via some contributors of the FBI replaced into chanced on they have been disiplined and brushed aside. .
