We could. The constitution was desinged to be an evolving document. But it would be very stupid of us to elect anyone for a life term as President, regardless of his or her party affiliation.

Technically, yes the Constitution could be amended for this purpose. But it won't ever happen, for any President. There's a better chance of Paris Hilton becoming a Rhodes Scholar than anyone suggesting this for the likes of George Bush.

That is the funniest thing I've EVER heard.. why in God's name would we want to do that. Maybe we could change it to make sure a Bush is never president again..

When he is gone, there will be the biggest collective sigh of relief heard in this country and around the world. Can't be soon enough

And by the way.. if there had been a way to do that.. don't you think himself would have done it by now.. he already thinks of himself as appointed by God..lol!

I hope you're kidding. Thankfully our founding fathers had enough foresight to make shortsighted or trivail amendments difficult or impossible to pass.
"The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress;"

I don't even think Mr. Bush would support such a notion. At this point, he is probably looking forward to re-entering the private life.

Are you crazy? Of course anything is possible but the change would have to happen in the next two years. The way our elected officials drag their feet,it will never happen. Now if it came to giving themselves a pay increase, that would be no problem.

While I think President Bush has done an outstanding job - I think he would even disagree with you on this one. I'm sure he is ready for a serious vacation!

Rossem, that wouldn't be changing the Constitution. That would be tearing it into little pieces, dousing those pieces with lighter fluid, and setting them on fire.

Wouldn't that stand in direct opposition to the ideals of freedom that your hero supposedly champions both here and in Iraq?
