To play any recorded music in pubic requires paying a royalty. There was a stink a few years back about the Muzak company spying on companies that broadcast music and wanting the fees for a monthly service they provide or, (and this was a form of blackmail) to notify the recording company about use of the music. Fair use of VCR, tape recorders and iPods mean for personal and not public use.

Of course, it depends how much jealousy you generate in the way of income for your business. Small, garage shows, really no problem.

Below is 2 links. 1st one is for real money. 2nd one is for promotional artist that let you.

You would need more than a license. You have to make sure you are not infringing on copyrighted material. Check with the provider of the videos and have him sign a clearance and certified. Also, the music needs the same clearance. Otherwise, you can face a very stiff fine and/or jail time.

You want to avoid copyright infringement because one lawsuit could crush your entire business, not to mention your personal finances if you get caught.
